Lime Kiln lighthouse is located on the west side of San Juan Island, the largest island of the archipelago. The lighthouse gets its name from the limekilns built nearby in the 1860s. Their remains can still be seen today, just north of the lighthouse.
The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is one of the destination events for the Pacific Northwest, held each year from April 1-30. Every spring hundreds of thousands of people come to enjoy the celebration of spring as millions of tulips burst into bloom. As with all things governed by Mother Nature, the tulips bloom according to their own schedule sometime during the festival.

Port Angeles, Wa.

Port Angeles is situated on the northern edge of the Olympic Peninsula along the shore of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It features a long and narrow natural sandspit named Ediz Hook(which houses a coast guard base on the end) that projects north-easterly nearly three miles into the Strait, creating a large, natural deep-water harbor shielded from the storms and swells that move predominantly eastward down the Strait from the Pacific Ocean. The harbor is deep enough to provide anchorage for most kinds of ocean-going ships.

The North Head Lighthouse still stands as a sentinel overlooking the treacherous body of water between the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean. The North Head Lighthouse is still an active aid to navigation, although the lighthouse keepers who once tended the flame have been replaced by an automated beacon. The lighthouse offers sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, Long Beach Peninsula, Columbia River Bar and the northern Oregon Coast.

Beautiful Moonlit Rialto Beach~
Iron Tazz Scaggs posted "this was shot on a backpacking trip in February in the middle of the night when the moon dropped to the perfect spot!"

Discovery Beach, Seattle, Washington
Beautiful Photo by- Carol Hughes Wells

Discovery Park is a 534 acre park in the peninsular Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The park is one of the best places in the city to view wildlife, especially birds and marine mammals. Elliott and Shilshole Bays are home to harbor seals and California sea lions, while the wooded areas support Townsend's chipmunks. Most visitors enjoy hiking the Loop Trail, which forms a circuit through forest, meadow, and shrub habitats around the upland portion of the park, and provides excellent views of Puget Sound.

WELCOME TO WASHINGTON STATE DESTINATIONS

Picture

Take a Photo Tour of Washington State!

As of July 2011 , Washington State officially became the ONLY state to completely eliminate our tourism bureau! WE NEED TO PROMOTE WASHINGTON STATE NOW MORE THAN EVER! We have formed a marketing program designed to help inform visitors of ALL the GREAT things to do here while on a vacation, business trip or weekend getaway!

We have developed an affordable easy way for Washington State towns and the businesses in them work with "Everything Washington" and other Destinations in Washington State and various other U.S. States.

Washington is a leading lumber producer. Its rugged surface is rich in stands of Douglas fir, hemlock, ponderosa and white pine, spruce, larch, and cedar. The state holds first place in apples, lentils, dry edible peas, hops, pears, red raspberries, spearmint oil, and sweet cherries, and ranks high in apricots, asparagus, grapes, peppermint oil, and potatoes. Livestock and livestock products make important contributions to total farm revenue and the commercial fishing catch of salmon, halibut, and bottom fish makes a significant contribution to the state's economy.
